Construction Alert: US-31
Beginning on Tuesday March 1st, construction will resume on the US-31 draw bridge over the Grand River (Grand Haven).
Southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane and may create significant traffic delays that extend into Norton Shores. If commuting Southbound into Ottawa County, please plan ahead and allow for delays or seek an alternate route (M-231 bridge in Nunica). The following message is from the Michigan Department of Transportation:

Next week, southbound US-31 will be reduced to one lane and crossed over to the northbound side between 3rd Street and Jackson Street. Northbound US-31 will have two lanes open from Jackson Street to M-104, and one lane open from M-104 to 3rd Street. Alternate route for southbound US-31: I-96 to M-231 to M-45 to US-31.
-The ramp from southbound US-31 to eastbound M-104 will be closed. Detour- 3rd Street to M-104.
-The ramp from westbound M-104 to southbound US-31 will be closed. Detour- Northbound US-31 to Van Wagoner Street to southbound US-31.
-Westbound M-104 will be reduced to one lane over the Spring Lake Channel and all traffic will be redirected to Pine Street.
