Deputies Investigate Stranded Motorist Shooting a Firearm and Find Suspect to be a Felon In Possession of Firearms

LOCATION: State Hwy 18 / Upper Old Waterman Canyon Road, San Bernardino County unincorporated area
SUSPECT(S): Stacy Harris, 55 year old male resident of San Bernardino

SUMMARY: On Friday, February 25, 2022, deputies from the Twin Peaks station and Central station responded to State Highway 18, near Upper Old Waterman Canyon Road, reference a stranded vehicle with one of the occupants shooting a firearm. Deputies initiated a high-risk traffic stop and detained two subjects.
Deputies authored a search warrant to search the vehicle and found one ghost gun (non-serialized pistol), one antique foreign military bolt-action rifle, and ammunition for both firearms.
One of the subjects, Stacy Harris, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a firearm. Harris was treated for unrelated medical issues at a local hospital before being booked into West Valley Detention Center.
