During the week of February 21 - February 27, three lives were lost to violence. The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has investigated 17 homicides this year, compared to 25 this time last year.
For the week, there were 44 instances of gunfire. OPD officers recovered 244 firearms this year, up 52%. There were 32 robberies and 11 carjackings.
We must come together as a city to end the violence in our community. If you see something, say something.!!
OPD encourages residents and business owners to consider installing security
cameras as well as alarms. These technologies can both deter crime and help solve crimes after they occur.
