Drugs Seized at Apartment during Follow-up Investigation
On February 15, 2022, at approximately 0414 hours, SVPD officers and VCFD responded to a single report of an explosion at 1868 Bishop Lane. Upon arrival, officers discovered that several of a single apartment’s windows were blown out, including the window frames.
VCFD determined that there did not appear to be any structural damage; however, Building and Safety will be consulted. Officers contacted Jason Ward (41) and a roommate at the residence. Jason Ward suffered from burns on the top of his feet, and his hair was singed. The roommate was unharmed. No other persons were injured in the apartment building.
Officers found evidence of a Butane Honey Oil (BHO) lab. Both Jason Ward and the roommate were transported to the hospital. Jason Ward was arrested and charged with 11379.6(a) H&S Manufacturing, a controlled substance.
Detectives of the Special Investigations Unit conducted a follow up investigation into the explosion at an apartment in the 1800 block of Bishop Ln.
A search warrant was served at the location and the following evidence was collected from the apartment:
9 pounds of marijuana
33 grams of methamphetamine
Ecstasy and miscellaneous prescription pills
Butane canisters used to extract the “honey oil” from the marijuana
