Child Sexual Abuse Fugitive Arrested, Awaiting Extradition
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team works with multiple local, state, and federal agencies to achieve the mission of locating and arresting fugitives from justice.

Child Sexual Abuse Fugitive Arrested, Awaiting Extradition 
On March 2, 2022, Hinesville Police Department, located in Georgia, contacted the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team (C.A.T.) about a fugitive from their state that they believed was possibly staying in Rutherford County: Terry Lee Sledge.
Within a few hours of receiving the case, the Criminal Apprehension Team was able to identify and locate Terry Lee Sledge at a house in Spindale. He was subsequently arrested, and transported to the Rutherford County Detention Center without incident. Mr. Sledge is currently in the Rutherford County Detention Center under a $1.8 million dollar bond, and is awaiting extradition back to Georgia for the following outstanding warrants:
