INCIDENT: Assault with a Deadly Weapon
LOCATION: 26300 Block of Coronado Drive, in Helendale
VICTIM: Male adult, 53 years-old, of Helendale
SUSPECT: Arthur Moreno, 67 years-old, of Helendale
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 12:52 p.m., deputies responded to a 911 call in the 26300 block of Coronado Drive in Helendale.
According to the victim, he went to Arthur Moreno’s house to talk and Moreno became upset. Moreno armed himself with two pocket-knives and told the victim to leave. Before the victim was able to leave the residence, Moreno stabbed him in the chest.
The victim was transported to a local hospital. Moreno was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked at High Desert Detention Center. He is currently being held in lieu of $50,000.00 bail.
