CHILD ABUSE SUSPECT ARRESTED
 
On February 25, at approximately 12:35 p.m., Morgan Hill police officers responded to the 500 block of E. Central Avenue, to investigate the report of an unresponsive 18-month-old child.  MHPD officers arrived on scene and discovered the 18-month-old child was unconscious and had shallow breathing.  Officers inspected the child and discovered the child had visible injuries on several parts of their body.  The child was ultimately transported to Valley Medical Center for treatment where it was discovered they sustained a brain hemorrhage.    
 
A thorough investigation was conducted at the scene and Officers arrested Amy Christine Jones (45 y/o) from Morgan Hill, on charges of P.C. 273(a)(a) – Child abuse with great bodily injury and P.C. 273(d)(a) – Inflict injury upon a child.  Jones was transported to the Santa Clara County Main Jail and booked into their custody.
