413 Arrests Made and 73 Human Trafficking Victims Rescued by California Law Enforcement During Operation "Reclaim and Rebuild"

 Sheriff Alex Villanueva announced details and results from the seventh annual Operation Reclaim and Rebuild during a press conference on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the Hall of Justice in downtown Los Angeles. They were conducted by the Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Task Force, more than 80 participating federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, and task forces from across California to combat human trafficking and the exploitation of sex trafficking victims.



LASD Assists in a 5 Day Sweep Across 51 cities in the LA Area Netting Over 100 Illegal Firearms and 17 Assault Rifles  

February 22, 2022

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was part of a joint operation that included the California Department of Justice, Los Angeles Police Department, Azusa Police Department, Pasadena Police Department, and other local law enforcement agencies. During the week long operation of illegal gun ownership, over 100 illegal guns were seized and 13 individuals were arrested. All together 114 firearms were recovered. Of those 114, 17 assault weapons, 55 handguns, 15 shotguns, 19 rifles, and 8 ghost guns. 



LASD Joined Orchards BBQ and Grill for a Teddy Bear Giveaway 

February 14, 2022

Sheriff Villanueva and his wife, Vivian, joined Troy and Debbie Silva from Orchards BBQ & Grill on Monday, February 14, 2022, in a Teddy Bear Giveaway. Deputies from Norwalk Station, Transit Services Bureau, and members of the Community Advisory Council also assisted with the teddy bear distribution at the Whittier Hills Healthcare Center, a nursing home in the city of Whittier. It was such a heartwarming event and a great way to spread love to the residents. 



Kicking off Women's History Month- LASD honors Asst. Sheriff of Countywide Operations, Robin Limon 

March 2, 2022

March is Women's History Month. During this month we honor and celebrate the accomplishments of the brave and courageous women of the LASD. Our first female this month is Assistant Sheriff of Countywide Operations, Robin Limon. Robin Limon graduated from the Academy in 1989 and began her career as a line deputy at Sybil Brand Institute for Women. In 1991, she transferred to Transportation Bureau where she was assigned as a bus driver.
