Rout 53 (East Main Street) is closed in both directions between Indian Road and Bloomfield Avenue due to a downed utility pole and wires across the roadway from a motor vehicle crash.

Northbound traffic on Route 53 is being detoured onto Indian Rd to North Shore Rd to Franklin Rd to Rt. 46 (there is no access to the Route 80 eastbound ramp).  There is no access to Route 53 southbound from Route 46 at this time.  Best course of action is to utilize Route 10 (from either 287 or Franklin Road) to access Route 53 in Parsippany.  You may also utilize Route 46 eastbound to Fox Hill Road to Route 53.  Vehicular traffic can still utilize the Route 53 north ramp to access Denville Center from Route 46 east.

The closue is expected to last through evening rush hour.
