Corcoran Man Arrested for Murder
On Sunday, March 6, 2022, at approximately 7:00 AM, Corcoran Police Officers responded to a call of a reported suicide in the 1900 block of Evergreen Drive. The caller, who was later identified as Luis Antonio Pulido-Esparza, reported his girlfriend had shot herself and was not breathing. Officers arrived on scene and found a female victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. The 32-year-old victim was deceased. Officers interviewed Pulido-Esparza who stated he and his girlfriend had an argument the prior night and he woke up to the sound of gunfire. Pulido-Esparza stated he called 911 to report the incident. Officers also discovered there were three children in the home at the time of the incident. As part of the investigation Corcoran Detectives served a search warrant at the residence and gathered additional items of evidence. Based on the evidence located at the scene, information obtained through interviews and information gathered throughout the investigation detectives arrested Pulido-Esparza for murder. Pulido-Esparza was ultimately transported and booked into the Kings County Jail for violation of 187 PC – Murder. Pulido-Esparza is a Correctional Officer for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, currently working at the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility in Corcoran.
