INCIDENT: PC 459 - Commercial Burglary
LOCATION: 27100 Block of Baseline Street, Highland, CA
SUSPECT(S): Anthony Chavez, 27-years-old, Resident of San Bernardino
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On March 9, 2022, deputies from the Highland Sheriff’s Station responded to the 27100 block of Baseline Street, for reports of a burglary in progress at a business in the business complex. The caller advised Sheriff's dispatch they heard glass break and saw a subject take items from inside a business that was closed for the night.
Deputies arrived on scene within minuutes of the call and noticed a broken window to the business. As deputies set up a perimeter, the subject, later identified as Anthony Chavez, crawled out through the broken window and was taken into custody without incident. All stolen property was recovered and released back to the owner.
Chavez was booked into Central Detention Center on charges of PC 459 - Commercial Burglary (felony) and two outstanding arrest warrants.
