SVPD Narcotics Detectives Recover over 3 Pounds of Illegal Drugs

During the week of February 28th, Detectives from the SVPD- Special Investigations Unit received information that a wanted subject on parole was in Simi Valley.  SIU Detectives responded to the area of his last known location and initiated a surveillance.

Later that evening, SIU Detectives requested assistance from the Oxnard Police Department to conduct an enforcement stop on the suspect’s vehicle in their city.  They were successful in conducting the stop on the vehicle and took the driver into custody without incident.
The driver was identified as Miguel Morales, a 49 year old Simi Valley resident.  He was arrested for his felony parole warrant and booked at Ventura County Jail.

SIU Detectives conducted a search of Morales’ vehicle and recovered 20,000 pressed pills believed to be fentanyl, one pound of fentanyl in powder form, one pound of methamphetamine, and a significant amount of US Currency.  He was later arrested for violations of 11351 H&S, 11352 H&S, 11378 H&S and 11379 H&S (possession and transportation of controlled substances for sales).
