Suspect in Highland Arrested for Domestic Assault and Weapons Charges

LOCATION: 7500 block of Golondrina Drive, Highland, CA 92410
SUSPECT(S): Miguel Mendez Morales, 30-year-old resident of Highland.
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On February 20, 2022, deputies responded to the report of a domestic disturbance in the city of Highland. During the investigation, Deputy J. Knowlton determined Mendez Morales brandished a firearm and assaulted the victim during an argument. A warrant was issued for Mendez Morales’ arrest on the date of the incident.
On March 9, 2022, Mendez Morales was apprehended and booked into Central Detention Center. Detective R. Hoag conducted further investigation and determined Mendez Morales possessed a firearm at his residence in the 7500 block of Golondrina Drive in the city of Highland. Investigators served a search warrant at Mendez Morales’ residence and seized a .45 caliber, semi-automatic pistol from the residence. Mendez Morales was previously convicted of a felony and prohibited from possessing firearms.
Mendez Morales is being held in San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department custody in lieu of $125,000 bail.
