* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches. Northwest winds will gust around 45 to 55 mph, especially Saturday afternoon into Saturday night.
* WHERE...Locations along and west of the Allegheny Front in Maryland and West Virginia as well as western Highland County in Virginia.
* WHEN...From 1 AM Saturday to 1 AM EST Sunday. Rain will change to snow between 1 and 3 AM early Saturday morning for most areas. Snow will continue through Saturday morning. Snow may taper off for a period around midday, but additional snow showers are expected Saturday afternoon into Saturday night.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The combination of snow and blowing snow may reduce visibility below one-half mile at time. Near blizzard conditions are possible.
