Report Number:          22-0001011
Occurred Date :           March 11th, 2022
Occurred Time:           3:00 PM
Location:                     Casa Grande Road/ Crinella Drive, Petaluma
Suspects:                     Hispanic Male Juvenile with black hair.

Incident Summary

On 03/11/2022 at approximately 3:00 PM, a teenage juvenile was walking on Casa Grande Road, near the intersection with Crinella Drive, when a silver SUV, possibly a Volkswagen, slowed and drove alongside the victim. The front passenger in the vehicle rolled down their window and produced what appeared to be a clear plastic airsoft gun and fired a pellet at the victim. The pellet struck the victim in the face, causing some minor pain, but did not cause any visible injury.

The victim described the airsoft gun as being made with clear plastic and had what appeared to be a “hopper” on top, similar to a paintball gun. The victim was confident it was only an airsoft gun. The victim believed the suspect was a Hispanic male with long black hair and was approximately 15 years old.

The Petaluma Police Department is actively investigating the incident. We would like to remind the public that airsoft weapons can cause injury, especially when not wearing proper safety equipment. It is a crime to shoot an unwilling participant with an airsoft gun.

If anyone witnessed the incident, or may have information who the suspect is, please contact Officer Sawyer at 707-781-1248.
