Motor vehicle crash leads to DWI arrest
On Friday, March 11, 2022 at 5:28pm, the Readington Township Police Department was dispatched to a single motor vehicle crash on Route 523 near Johnson Road. The driver, Stanley Jackson of Philadelphia PA, displayed indicators of impairment and was subsequently arrested after failing sobriety tests. Route 523 was closed for several hours to repair a utility pole that was snapped in half as a result of this crash.
Jackson was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, and being in possession of prescription legend drugs. Jackson was additionally charged with several traffic offenses. Jackson was released from police custody to a friend.
The filing of charges is merely on estep in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
