Advisory

Reminder about the ending of the winter moratorium. (March 15th)

This is Mayor Victor Sordillo, with an important message about protecting your electric and gas service from being disconnected when the winter moratorium ends on March 15th.

The pandemic created financial hardships on many families in our community and if you are behind on your PSE&G bill, you must contact PSE&G to set up a Deferred Payment Arrangement to prevent disconnection.  Visit: pseg.com/HelpNow

Thanks to increased income limits, more people are eligible for payment assistance than ever before. There is even a balance forgiveness program.

Again, the best webpage to visit to set up payment plan and learn about payment assistance programs is pseg.com/HelpNow.

Because PSE&G is resuming collections activates, we anticipate an increase in utility scam attempts - Don’t become a victim – it’s important to know PSE&G will not call and demand immediate payment and threaten disconnection on the same day.

We urge you to be extra vigilant about identifying PSE&G employees that call or visit your residence.

If anyone comes to your door looking like, or claiming to be, a PSE&G employee, ask for ID.

All PSE&G employees must carry ID and present it when requested.

If you are not convinced, call the PSE&G number on your bill.

A customer service representative will verify if a collections agent has been dispatched to your location.

In closing, I applaud PSEG for taking the initiative to remind us to inform our residents and their clients.  PSEG has been a model of great service to our community.
