INCIDENT: PC 243(E)(1) - Spousal Battery
LOCATION: 900 block of Broadway Street, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Melissa Carranza, 38-years-old, Resident of Ridgecrest, CA
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Saturday, March 12, 2022, at approximately 9:45 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department contacted Melissa Carranza near the 900 block of Broadway Street during a call for service. Carranza was found to be in violation of PC 243(E)(1) - Spousal Battery. During a records check, Carranza was also found to have two warrants out of Los Angeles for driving on a suspended license and driving under the influence.
Carranza was consequently arrested and transported to the High Desert Detention Center for booking. Carranza remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a combined bail amount of $76,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
