Deputies Arrest Reckless Driver in Needles for Possession of a Deadly Weapon
DATE/TIME: March 14, 2022, at approximately 8:18 p.m.
INCIDENT: PC 245(A)(1) - Assault with Deadly Weapon and PC22210 - Mfg/Etc Leaded Cane/Etc.
LOCATION: Goffs Road and Interstate 40 - Essex Junction, CA
SUSPECT(S): Garrett Decaluwe, 37-years-old, Resident of Pomona, CA
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Monday, March 14, 2022, at approximately 8:18 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department contacted Garrett Decaluwe near Goffs Road and Interstate 40 during a call for service of a motorist driving erratically and trying strike other vehicles with his vehicle.
When deputies arrived on scene, it was determined the suspect, Decaluwe, was in violation of PC 245(A)(1) - Assault with a Deadly Weapon and was also found to be in possession of a collapsible baton, similar to those used by Law Enforcement, which is a violation of PC 22210 - Mfg/Etc Leaded Cane/Etc.
Decaluwe was arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Decaluwe remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $50,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
