Crime Blotter for the Week of March 6 - 12, 2022

The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of March 6 - 12, 2022:        
 
March 6, 2022

  • Grand Theft: 1600 block of Delford Avenue - Between March 5, 2022, 7 PM and March 6, 2022, 6 AM, suspect(s) unknown stole the catalytic converter to the victims parked vehicle a silver 2013 Toyota Prius. Loss was approximately $2,000. No surveillance video available.
     
  • Petty Theft: 1060 Huntington Drive (Denny’s) - On March 6, 2022 between 7 PM and 9:30 PM, suspect(s) unknown entered the victims unlocked vehicle a white 2016 Honda Civic. Suspect(s) unknown stole miscellaneous items. Loss was approximately $600. No surveillance video available.
     
  • Grand Theft: 1450 Mountain Avenue (Harbor Freight)   On March 6, 2022, at 5:55 PM, a male black adult in his 50s, wearing a gray jacket and black pants entered the location and went directly to the area of the store where electric generators are displayed. The suspect selected two generators and placed them onto a dolly and walked them out the store without attempting to purchase the items.  Once the suspect was outside, he placed the stolen items into a white Ford F150 and left the location. Loss was approximately $1,500. Video surveillance available.

March 8, 2022
  • Petty Theft: 1325 Huntington Drive (Big Lots) -On March 8, 2022, at 3:31 PM, three female black adults, 25-30 years old, entered the location matching the description of three suspects who had just committed a theft from a Montebello Big Lots. The manager of the location immediately called 911 and awaited law enforcement. Prior to law enforcement arrival, the suspects stole multiple bottles of over-the-counter pain medication. The suspects left the location without attempting to purchase the items and entered a black Honda Accord like the vehicle used in the previous theft with a possible plate of 6EGV836. Loss was approximately $70. Video surveillance available.
March 9, 2022
  • Grand Theft: 1427 Random Lane - Between March 5, 2022, at 12 PM and March 9, 2022, 6 AM, suspect(s) unknown stole the catalytic converter to the victims parked vehicle a white 2016 Chevy Silverado. Loss was approximately $1,000. No surveillance video available.
     
  • Burglary (Vehicle): 2610 Gardi Street - On March 9, 2022, 2:45 AM, two unknown male suspects entered the victim’s vehicle a white 2013 Mercedes ML350 that was parked in the victim’s driveway. The unknown suspects stole miscellaneous baseball equipment. Loss was approximately $1,000. Surveillance video available.

  • Grand Theft: 1131 Central Avenue (Carmax) - On March 11, 2022, at 4 AM, two unknown suspects stole the catalytic converters to two parked vehicles in the locations parking lot, one from a brown 2021 Toyota Tundra and another from a black 2019 Toyota Tundra. Loss was approximately $2,000. No surveillance video available.

  • Burglary (residential): 400 Block of Mel Canyon Road   Between January 16, 2022, 12 AM, and March 12, 2022, 11:50 PM, suspect(s) unknown entered the location through an unsecured window. Once inside suspect(s) unknown ransacked the residence and stole unknow items. Loss is unknown currently. Surveillance video not available.
     
  • Grand Theft: 1000 Block of Miltonwood Avenue - On March 12, 2022, at 4 AM, suspect(s) unknown stole the catalytic converter to the victims parked vehicle a gray 2016 Toyota Tacoma. Loss was approximately $3,000. No surveillance video available.
     
  • Grand Theft: 1647 Delford Avenue - On March 12, 2022, at 5:22 AM, suspect(s) unknown, driving a silver Toyota Prius, stole the catalytic converter to the victims parked vehicle a blue 2016 Toyota Prius. Loss was approximately $1,000. No surveillance video available.

Vehicle Security:
  • An unlocked car is an open invitation to a car thief.
  • Lock up when you leave your car, and take the keys with you.
  • Lock the trunk or tailgate.
  • Close all windows — professional thieves have tools that unlock cars through the smallest openings.  
  • When you park the car, remove cellular phones and other valuable possessions. Do not leave anything lying on the seat.
  • Lock all valuables in your trunk or take them with you.
  • Lock your car even if you are making a quick stop at the gas station, convenience store, or mini-mall.
