* Flash Flood Warning for... Central Gaston County in the piedmont of North Carolina...
* Until 1000 PM EDT.
* At 654 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain falling in Gaston County. Catawba Creek in Gastonia has risen above flood stage of 9 feet and may rise as high as 11 feet. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area but will taper off through 8 PM. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Gastonia, Mt Holly, Belmont, Bessemer City, South Gastonia, Dallas, Stanley, Cramerton, Lowell, Ranlo, High Shoals, Mcadenville, Crowders Mountain State Park, Lake Wylie, Crowders and Lucia.
