UPDATE March 16, 2022:
While looking through evidence obtained during a search warrant executed on March 3, 2022, at the residence, Deputy Sandles located evidence indicating the same 13-year-old juvenile victim was physically abused by 41-year-old Deena Villella. During the abuse, the child sustained injuries to her face.
On Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 12:46pm, Deputy Sandles arrested Villella at the residence. Additional evidence was recovered substantiating the abuse.
The juvenile remains in placement through San Bernardino County Child and Family Services.
Deena Villella was booked at High Desert Detention Center for cruelty to a child and is being held in lieu of $100,000.00 bail.

SUSPECT: William Lee Powers-Moffard, 46-years-old, resident of Hesperia
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, March 3, 2022, William Lee Powers-Moffard was arrested for continued sexual abuse of a child.
Powers-Moffard continuously sexually abused the victim over the past two years. The suspect and victim knew each other prior to the abuse, and it is believed there could be additional victims who have not yet come forward. Powers-Moffard was charged with five felony counts of sexual abuse and booked at High Desert Detention Center with bail set in excess of $1,000,000.
