Armed Robbery, Suspects Arrested
This morning, Culver City Police Officers arrested a man in connection with a recent armed robbery that occurred at the mall a few days prior. During the robbery, the victim had over $3600 in jewelry taken from him.
On March 13th, 2022, at 4:33 PM, Culver City Police Officers were flagged down in the area of Bristol Pkwy and Hannum Ave. The victim told the officers that he was robbed at gunpoint by two suspects on the fourth level parking structure of the mall, 6000 Sepulveda Blvd.
Culver City Police Detectives worked in collaboration with mall security to identify a possible suspect, Mathew Loera (22 years old). Culver City Police Detectives obtained a search warrant based on the evidence.
This morning, March 17, 2022, Loera, who has an extensive arrest history, was located at the mall and was taken into custody without incident. Loera was transported and booked at the Culver City Police Department for robbery.
This case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration and this investigation is ongoing.
