Incident Summary

On 03/17/2022 at approximately 6:33 PM, the Petaluma Police Department Dispatch Center received a 911 call from employees of CVS reporting that they had just been robbed by two males, and they were believed to have been armed with handguns. Employees reported one of them showed a handgun in his waistband to one of the employee’s during the robbery.

During the robbery, two of the suspects entered the employee area of the pharmacy and demanded prescription pills from behind the counter. They then ordered employees to move around the pharmacy area. The suspects were unable to obtain any property from CVS during the robbery and employees reported they saw the suspects flee to a waiting white colored sedan and fled the area.

Responding officers searched the area extensively but were unable to locate the suspects. During the investigation, officers obtained additional information, including video surveillance and the involved suspect’s descriptions. At approximately 7:23 PM, the Petaluma Police Department learned that the Santa Rosa Police Department was responding to a robbery at a CVS store, where the suspects matched the description of the suspects from Petaluma PD’s investigation. They also fled in a similarly described vehicle from the CVS in Santa Rosa.

Petaluma PD’s information was passed along to the Santa Rosa Police Department. A SRPD officer located the vehicle that was believed to be involved in the robbery on Highway 101, proceeding southbound towards Petaluma. Petaluma Officers met with the SRPD officer trailing the suspect vehicle and a high-risk traffic stop was initiated on southbound Highway 101 at Kastania Road in Petaluma. The three occupants of the vehicle complied and were detained without incident. It was determined that the suspects were involved in the Santa Rosa robbery and were arrested on scene. They were transported to the Santa Rosa Police Department for interviews. Santa Rosa Police Department and Petaluma Police Department officers interviewed the involved suspects and continued the investigation in a collaborative effort between the two agencies.

It was ultimately determined that these suspects were involved in both the Petaluma and Santa Rosa robberies and were charged for related crimes by both the Petaluma Police Department and the Santa Rosa Police Department. The firearms have not been located, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Robert Halloway was booked at the Sonoma County Jail and the two juveniles were booked at Juvenile Hall. All were charged with Robbery and Conspiracy in relation to Petaluma’s Investigation. They were booked on additional charges from the Santa Rose Police Department investigation. Please refer to their distributed press release for additional information.
