Carson, Calif. – On March 18, 2022, 2 drivers were arrested for DUI at a DUI checkpoint.
The DUI checkpoint was held at Avalon Blvd and San Pedro Ave., from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
3 drivers were cited/arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 372 vehicles were contacted. One registered owner of a vehicle arrested/cited for knowingly allow an unlicensed driver to drive their vehicle.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
