OWI Arrest after Pursuit
On 03/21/21 at 2:59 A.M., officers of the Janesville Police Department were sent to the 3900 block of Milton Avenue for a disturbance. A female reported that she had been assaulted, taken against her will, and the suspect was fleeing the scene. The suspect was reportedly armed and impaired by narcotics.
An officer located the suspect vehicle near the downtown area and attempted to stop it near the intersection of Center Avenue and Joliet St. The suspect initially stopped in the middle of the roadway; however, proceeded to flee from officers in the vehicle.
A pursuit was initiated that traveled through portions of the Southwest neighborhoods of the City of Janesville. During the pursuit, the suspect intentionally struck a squad to avoid apprehension. The squad car suffered minor damage and the officer was uninjured. The suspect eventually ran off the roadway in the 1800 block of Waterford Drive.
The suspect was taken into custody and arrested on several charges to include OWI, Recklessly Endangering Safety, and Fleeing. The suspect is in custody at the Rock County Jail awaiting an initial appearance. This incident remains under investigation and additional details will released later.
