11:17 PM: Officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision into a building in the 5000 block of Cedar Ct. The driver fled prior to officer arrival. The vehicle was determined to be stolen out of Hayward. Incident is being investigated by Officer Norvell.

3:32 AM: Officer Cervantes responded to a report of an unwanted guest in the 6000 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Upon arrival, Ofc. Cervantes made contact and arrested a 34-year old female out of Hayward for an outstanding warrant for battery on a peace officer. She was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
7:13 AM: Officers responded to a report of an unresponsive subject in a vehicle in the 6000 block of Lido Ct. Upon arrival, officers made contact and arrested a 24-year old male out of Richmond for DUI and driving with a license suspended for DUI. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
1:16 PM: Officers responded to a report of a subject breaking a car window in the area of Central Ave and Filbert St. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact but the subject fled from officers. After a short foot pursuit, officers ultimately made contact and safely detained the subject, a 36-year old male out of Newark. He was arrested for vandalism, multiple outstanding warrants, and obstructing a peace officer. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

2:19 PM: Officer Rivera investigated a theft in the 35000 block of Newark Blvd.
3:42 PM: Officer Arroyo responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody in the 200 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Officers made contact and accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 41-year old male out of Berkeley. The subject was found to be in possession of controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and a records check revealed several outstanding warrants. The subject was ultimately arrested of possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
4:19 PM: Officer Rivera documented the recovery of a firearm that a citizen found in the 6000 block of Overlake Pl.

8:16 AM: Officer Taylor investigated a report of suspicious activity in the area of Cabernet Ave and Haley St. Upon further investigation, Officer Taylor located a vehicle that had previously been reported as stolen out of Newark. 
8:34 AM: Officer Arroyo investigated a report of a vehicle theft in the 35000 block of Bettencourt St. The vehicle was recovered on 2/21/22 in Newark.
9:23 AM: Officer Jackman investigated a report of a vehicle theft that occurred overnight in the 35000 block of Millwood Court. On 2/23/2022 the vehicle was recovered.
10:40 AM: Officer Rivera investigated a report of a stolen vehicle in the 5000 block of Wembley Court.
1:51 PM: Officer Taylor investigated a battery between two subjects in the 5000 block of Thornton Ave. Officers made contact and arrested a 34-year old male out of Hayward for battery. He was cited and released.
9:33 PM: Officer Herrera conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the 35000 block Newark Blvd. Officer Herrera made contact and arrested a 32-year old male out of Newark for an outstanding warrant. He was cited and released.

8:34 AM: Officer Arroyo investigated a vehicle theft that occurred overnight in the 37000 block of Elm St. On 2/23/2022 the vehicle was recovered in Oakland.
9:30 AM: Officer Jackman investigated the theft of a vehicle that occurred overnight in the 6000 block of Dairy Ave. On 2/24/2022 the vehicle was recovered.
12:11 PM: Officer Soto investigated a theft of a vehicle in the 6200 block of Jarvis Ave.
3:15 PM: Officer Jackman investigated the theft of a catalytic converter in the 5700 block of Ravenwood Ave. The theft occurred sometime in the last week.
8:51 PM: Officer Cervantes responded to a report of a burglary in-progress in the 6400 block of Robertson Ave. The subject fled prior to officer arrival. Officers located the subject, a 29-year old male out of Newark, nearby. The subject was arrested for burglary and booked at Santa Rita Jail.
9:40 PM: Officer Pacheco responded to investigate a report of a burglary to multiple lockers in the 200 block of Newpark Mall Rd.

12:14 AM: Officer San Pedro made contact with a 27-year old male out of Newark in the area of Spruce St. and Mayhews Landing Rd. The subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
 
Friday, February 25, 2022
10:25 PM: Officer Herrera on-viewed a vehicle driving recklessly in the area of Filbert St at the Railroad Tracks. The vehicle was breaking traction with its tires disregarding the safety of people and property in the area. Officer Herrera completed a traffic enforcement stop. Officer Herrera, made contact and arrested a 21-year old male out of Newark for reckless driving. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days. While conducting an investigation, a 23-year old male out of Oakland was cited for multiple emissions violations and referred to the State Referee for vehicle inspection.

7:25 PM: Officer Cervantes and Officer Kapu responded to investigate a report of a vehicle collision into a parked vehicle in the 5000 block of Saint Mark Ave. Officers made contact and ultimately arrested a 28-year old male out of Newark for DUI. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

8:43 AM: Officer Losier made contact and arrested a 58-year old male out of Fremont for an active warrant. He cited and released.
8:08 AM: Officer Soto responded to investigate a report of suspicious activity in the 37000 block of Elm St. Officer Soto made contact with a 44-year old male for an outstanding warrant. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

12:07 AM: Officers responded to a report of a subject with a firearm in the 38000 block of Larkspur St. Officers made contact and detained a 29-year old male subject out of Newark without incident. Upon further investigation, officers determined the weapon was an assault-style airsoft gun. The airsoft gun was turned over for destruction. The subject was ultimately arrested for an outstanding warrant and disregarding a court order. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail. 
12:35 AM: Officer Kapu observed a vehicle make an unlawful U-turn against a red light in the area of Gateway Blvd and Jarvis Ave. Officer Kapu initiated a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle. The driver attempted to evade Officer Kapu by driving at a high rate of speed without regard for the safety of others, causing the vehicle to began sliding out of control nearly into the oncoming lanes of traffic. Shortly after, the vehicle yielded. Officer Kapu made contact with a 33-year old male out of Oakland. While detained, the subject began violently thrashing about and kicking officers. The subject was ultimately arrested for failing to obey a peace officer, driving recklessly and battery on an officer. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail and his vehicle was impounded.
11:42 PM: Officer Herrera completed a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Brittany Ave and Madelaine Dr. Officer Herrera made contact with a 32-year old female out of Hayward. A records check revealed the subject had an outstanding warrant. The subject would not comply with officer commands to exit the vehicle. Officers were able to peacefully deescalate the situation and safely take the subject into custody without further incident. The subject was ultimately arrested for obstructing a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misappropriating lost property. She was booked at Santa Rita Jail and her vehicle was towed.

3:36 AM: During a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Filbert St and Wells Ave, Officer Riddles made contact and arrested a 31-year old male out of Hayward for DUI. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
11:42 PM: Officer Swadener made contact with a 29-year old subject out of San Jose in the 39000 block of Balentine Dr. A records check revealed an active warrant. While investigating, Officer Swadener observed a plethora of identity theft materials. The subject was ultimately arrested for an outstanding warrant, possession of identity theft materials with intent defraud, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked at Santa Rita Jail and her vehicle was towed.
2:17 PM: Officers responded a report of a disturbance in the 36000 block of La Salle Dr. Officer Taylor made contact and arrested a 40-year old male out of Newark for battery. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
4:08 PM: Officer Piquette conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Thronton Ave and Ruschin Dr. Officer Piquette made contact and arrested a 25-year old male out of Newark for an outstanding warrant. He was issued a new court date and released.
8:56 PM: Officers investigated a cold burglary that occurred in the 6000 block of Rubicon Ave. Incident is being investigated by Officer Adami.
6:29 PM: Officer Riddles investigated a vehicle theft in the 37000 block of Magnolia St.
8:04 PM: Officer Riddles investigated the recovery of a stolen vehicle in the 7000 block of Graham Ave.

3:14 AM: During a security check in the 5000 block of Mowry School Rd, Officer Riddles located a cold window smash burglary. Case is being investigated by Officer Sanchez.
7:22 AM: Community Service Officer Parks investigated the theft of a vehicle that occurred in the 6000 block of Jarvis Ave.
11:17 AM: Officers investigated a cold burglary that occurred in the 39000 block of Cedar Blvd. Loss was $400. Officer Frentescu is investigating.
8:01 PM: Officers Adami and Sanchez investigated multiple burglaries to vehicles that occurred in the 3000 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Loss was 2 laptops, a passport and various clothing respectively.

11:57 AM: Officers responded to a disturbance in the 5000 block of Thornton Ave. Officer McCuin made contact and arrested a 32-year old male for an outstanding warrant. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
7:54 PM: Officer Losier responded to a report of a battery in the 39000 block of Cedar Blvd. The subject fled prior to officer arrival. This case is still under investigation and Officer Losier is working on identifying the suspect.
 
Thursday, March 10, 2022
3:02 AM: While conducting a security check in the 39000 block of Balentine Dr., Officer Riddles observed suspicious activity from a subject. Officer Riddles made contact with a 42-year old male out of Fremont and ultimately arrested the subject for possession of burglary tools and probation violation. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
7:41 PM: Officer Frentescu responded to an interrupted burglary in the 6000 block of Portrero Dr. Officers arrived on scene but the suspects fled prior to officer arrival. It was later learned that there had been a delay in the initial call. Incident is still under investigation.
