Severe weather
The National Weather Service has our area in a Risk Category 4, Modrate Threat. This system is predicted to in our area from 2pm-10pm. We can expect widespread severe storms that are long lived and intense! We are likely to see tornatic activity with winds of 70-80 MPH, golf ball size hail, and 3-6 inches of rain. This will likely cause flooding in many parts of the county. We expect to see trees and power lines down.
Remember, TURN AROUND, DONT DROWN"
Rapid flowing streams or ditches can sweep you off your feet and your vehicle downstream. Remain alert if you live in a flood prone area. Water may still be rising and very swift even after the rain stops.
Severe Weather can ESCALATE QUICKLY!
Our area does not have good radar coverage and a tornado may not be radar indicated until its on the ground. Mobile homes are not a safe place to be in. If you live in a mobile home, please see if you can stay with a family member or neighbor/friend until the storm passes.
We do expect to have power outages, so be prepared to have enough food and water for everyone in your home, including pets. At least 3 gallons of water per person, per day along with non perishable food for at least 3 days. Keep all important papers and medications safe. Have some cash availible as well.
