IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM MAYOR GRASSO

The Village received an emergency call regarding a shooting at 16W475 S. Frontage Road early this afternoon. It is confirmed that two victims were shot, and one has passed away.  The Village will identify the victims after the next of kin have been notified.  The perpetrator fled the scene, eventually committing suicide at 7962 S Madison St. 

At this time, the situation is secure. No shooting suspect is at large; however, residents should avoid the area of 79th and Madison due to a heavy police presence.   

The safety of residents and businesses remains a top priority for the Village of Burr Ridge.  Thank you to all responding agencies, including Willowbrook Police Department, Darien Police Department, M.E.R.I.T., Pleasantview Fire Protection District, and Tri-State Fire Protection District.
