DUI Checkpoint Results
Simi Valley, Calif. – On March 19, 2022 the Simi Valley Police Department conducted a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint. During this operation, nearly 1100 drivers were screened. Although no one was arrested for DUI, there were 5 subjects arrested for driving on a suspended license, 8 were cited for driving without a license, and 4 vehicles were impounded.
“We are committed to taking impaired drivers off the road,” Commander, James Buckley said. “Driving under the influence is not only dangerous, but also has major consequences.”
Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
The Simi Valley Police Department will be holding another DUI checkpoint operation and additional DUI enforcement patrols throughout the year to keep our roadways safe.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
