Coronavirus (COVID-19) Seven Hundred Forty-Sixth Update, Wednesday, March 23, 2022
Albany County’s COVID-19 dashboard reported today that there were 61 new positive cases in the County since yesterday, which raised the County’s COVID-19 cumulative pandemic total to 62,791 positive cases. The County’s seven-day average of new daily positive cases increased from 36.0 to 39.8 cases. The number of County residents in the hospital due to COVID-19 symptoms decreased by two to now 12 patients, with three patients remaining in the ICU. The County reported no deaths overnight, and the County’s pandemic death toll remained at 536.
State DOH reported that the County’s rate for one vaccine dose as of yesterday was 81.3% of the County’s total population and 89.7% of the adult population, and the County’s rate for full-vaccination was 74.1% of the total population, and for boosters was 64.1% of the eligible population. The State’s rate for one dose was 89.4% for the total population and 95.0% of adults, and the State’s rate for full-vaccination was 76.0% for the total population, and for boosters was 56.0% of the eligible population. No changes today in any of the percentages.
The State’s COVID-19 website reported that yesterday’s results for 160,670 tests Statewide were 3,875 or 2.4% positive, with the seven-day average increasing to 1.9%. The Capital Region had 6,297 tests of which 249 or 4.0% were positive, with the seven-day average increasing to 3.0%. The County had 1,398 tests of which 50 or 3.6% were positive, with the seven-day average increasing to 2.9%. For the first time in six weeks, positivity rates for daily percentages and seven-day averages increased yesterday in the County, Capital Region, and State.
Governor Hochul announced today that the State’s positive rate for tests was 2.41%. Other COVID-19 data included hospitalizations (933, -17), new admissions (137), ICU patients (161, -1), intubations (70, -1), and deaths (7).
With spring’s arrival, the Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce that registrations for the 2022 Summer Camp will open on April 1. The camp will start on June 17 and end on August 15, and will allow for one-week long registrations for each of the camp’s six weeks, except that there is a two-week commitment for swim lessons. The camp’s schedule, swim lesson information, and details of programs and activities, are now available for easy perusal by flipping through the digital brochure.
