OSBI INVESTIGATING IN-CUSTODY DEATH IN COMANCHE COUNTY

COMANCHE COUNTY, Oklahoma (March 23, 2022) – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is investigating an in-custody death at the Comanche County Detention Center.
On March 20, 2022, the OSBI was requested by the Comanche County Detention Center to conduct an investigation into a death that occurred within the facility. Detention Officers conducting a routine inmate count discovered Vanessa Thorpe, 39, unresponsive in her cell. Detention officers and emergency medical personnel attempted life saving measures on Thorpe. At 10 p.m., she was pronounced deceased on the scene.
