Tornado Warning until 11:00PM Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Tornado Warning for... Southeastern Transylvania County in western North Carolina... South central Henderson County in western North Carolina... Northern Greenville County in Upstate South Carolina... Northeastern Pickens County in Upstate South Carolina...

* Until 1100 PM EDT.

* At 1008 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 6 miles north of Pickens, or 4 miles south of Table Rock State Park, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near... Caesars Head State Park around 1020 PM EDT. Pleasant Ridge State Park, Slater-Marietta and Jones Gap State Park around 1030 PM EDT. Tigerville around 1040 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by this dangerous thunderstorm include Sunset, Pumpkintown, Crab Creek, Cleveland and Cedar Mountain.

Instructions:

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to minor flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Life-threatening flash flooding is also occurring or is imminent. Avoid taking shelter in flooded or flood prone areas. If indoors, move to an interior room on the lowest dry floor. If in a car, seek shelter in a sturdy building away from flooding.
