On March 23, 2022, at 11:06 PM, Simi Valley Police Officers were dispatched to the 711, which is located at 1369 Erringer Rd, in reference to a battery that just occurred. The clerk advised dispatch that he had just been assaulted by a customer who was now fleeing the location.

As Officers were enroute to the scene, a witness contacted 911 and advised that the battery had in actuality been a robbery, and that he was now following the suspect in the area. Officers arrived on scene and detained the suspect, Victor Rios 30 from SimI Valley without incident. The clerk was contacted and stated that Rios entered the business selected a case of beer and immediately began walking out of the store, making no attempt to pay. When confronted and told to pay for the items the suspect struck the clerk, resulting in minor injuries, and fled on foot. The beer was recovered and Rios was booked at Ventura County Jail for Robbery.
