On 3/24/2022 at approximately 6am, deputies received a call for service of a robbery that just occurred at the 500 block of S. Topanga canyon Blvd, in Topanga. A male adult followed a 65-year-old female adult, who was out for a jog. The suspect forcefully took her purse and flashlight. Upon arrival, deputies searched the area and located a male matching the description in the call, a known local transient. As the deputies approached the suspect, the suspect fled on foot. With the assistance of aero, deputies were able to re-locate the suspect. Deputies were able to detain the resistive suspect. Through a field show up, the victim positively identified the suspect. The suspect was #arrested for Strong Arm Robbery, Elder Abuse and Obstructing a Peace Officer.
