Collision Involving Two Motorcycles Claims the Life of One Rider and Sends the Other to the Hospital

INCIDENT: Fatal Vehicle Collision
LOCATION: Rodeo Drive and Lariat Road, Victorville
SUMMARY: On Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 7:57 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department, along with rescue personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Emergency Response, responded to a collision involving a vehicle and two motorcycles in the area of Rodeo Drive and Lariat Road.
Upon arrival, deputies learned two motorcycle riders traveled southbound at high speed on Rodeo Drive. One motorcycle rider broadsided a Dodge Durango exiting a private driveway on the west side of Rodeo Drive. The other motorcycle rider swerved to avoid the Dodge and crashed into a parked Nissan Altima.
Deputies began life saving measures until medical personnel arrived. Medical personnel continued life saving measures upon their arrival. Despite their efforts, the motorcycle rider that broadsided the Dodge was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other motorcycle rider was transported to an out of the area trauma center for medical treatment. Their condition is not known at this time. The driver of the Dodge did not sustain any injuries.
North and Southbound lanes of Rodeo Drive were closed for several hours while deputies conducted their investigation at the scene and has since reopened to traffic. The investigation is still ongoing.
