Subject in tonight's Lady's Island Food Lion shooting in custody; no public safety threat 
At approximately 8:20 tonight, Friday, March 25, 2022, a shooting was reported at the Food Lion supermarket on Lady's Island.
During the incident, the victim, a male, was shot at least two times in the lower extremities by a male subject.
The gunshot victim was transported to the Beaufort Memorial Hospital for treatment of his wounds.
Sheriff's Office deputies and SWAT members searched the area of the store for the unknown subject; he was not located.
A short time ago, the shooting subject turned himself in at the Beaufort County Law Enforcement Center and was taken into custody by deputies. .
There is no public safety threat.
