Winter Storm Warning until 10:00AM Monday

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches. East winds 30 to 45 mph with gusts as high as 70 mph. Strongest gusts are expected near Koliganek to New Stuyahok. Visibilities reduced to one quarter mile or less.

* WHERE...From Dillingham north and west.

* WHEN...From 7 AM Sunday to 10 AM AKDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on difficult travel conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow is expected to overspread Bristol Bay Sunday morning. The peak intensity of the snow is expected Sunday afternoon through early Monday morning when snowfall rates may approach upwards of 1 inch per hour. Snowfall rates will begin to diminish after daybreak Monday morning as the precipitation tapers off, though some snow showers may linger through Monday afternoon especially across higher terrain. Falling snow in combination with strong gusty winds will reduce visibilities to one quarter mile at times. Areas from King Salmon south to Port Heiden may see an initial burst of snow, generally less than one inch, before downsloping takes over Sunday evening.
