JUNK VEHICLES
During the month of April 2022, the Port Vue Police Department will be making a concentrated effort to locate, orange tag, then remove ALL junk vehicles within the borough. This will include all vehicles that have expired inspection stickers, expired registration plates, vehicles with no license plates, a combination of both or vehicles that are in junk condition such as heaviltly damaged, rusted out, missing tires and other major components, vehicles in a state of disrepair & vehicles that have clearly not been moved or utilized with any of the mentioned conditions. This will apply to public streets and private property. If you do not want your vehicle subject to the orange tag, it must be kept inside a garage or facility out of public view. A simple CAR COVER is NOT acceptable for concealment. Please make sure your vehicles are current with inspection and registration plates to avoid being located for orange tag applications & removal. If your vehicle is orange tagged, it may be removed by the police department as soon as 48 hours from the date on the orange tag. If you require a reasonable amount of time for an extension, please contact me at the police department and we will make arrangements to accomodate you for the extra time you may need to correct the issue. We are very flexible and do not wish to remove vehicles. If you do not contact us for an extension, be aware that your vehicle will be removed in a timely manner. We are striving to maintain a healthly, neat and visually pleasant community here in Port Vue. Please assist us in doing this by illiminating the unsightly vehicles you may have on your property or street. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 412-672-2255 Ext. 10. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Respectfully,
David J. Petruski, Chief of Police
