INCIDENT: Altering a Firearm Mark
LOCATION: 27000 block of Cypress Street, Highland, CA, 92346
SUSPECT(S): Efrain Pedroza, 20-year-old resident of Highland
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On March 29, 2022, Efrain Pedroza approached deputies in their patrol vehicle while they were on a call for service. Pedroza wanted to turn himself in for an outstanding arrest warrant out of San Bernardino County.
Deputies arrested Pedroza and searched his vehicle where they located a silver .50 caliber Desert Eagle handgun hidden in the center console. While trying to conduct a records check of the firearm, deputies discovered the firearm's serial number was removed.
In addtion to the warrant, Pedroza was also booked for PC 23900 - Altering a Firearm Mark. He remains in custody at the Central Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
