Flood Warning until 09:45PM Wednesday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Missouri, including the following counties, in south central Missouri, Dent, Howell, Oregon, Shannon and Texas. In southwest Missouri, Douglas and Ozark.

* WHEN...Until 945 PM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 340 PM CDT, The Department of Transportation reported flooding from previous heavy rain in the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following low water crossings... Lick Creek at County Road 528, Mahans Creek at County Road 501, Warm Fork Spring River at County Road 323, Howell Creek at County Road 9790 and Gladden Creek at County Road 624. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... West Plains, Salem, Mountain View, Thayer, Willow Springs, Houston, Licking and Cabool. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
