On Saturday, April 2, 2022 at about 2:18 p.m. dispatch received information that a juvenile been swept away into the Kern River around Keysville. The juvenile had been in the water for about 20 minutes before KCSO was notified.
Several juveniles went into the river in knee to calf-deep water while an adult family friend supervised. The juvenile slipped and fell into the river and the family friend jumped in after him.
The child has not been located. The search is ongoing.
