On Tuesday, April 5th at approximately 8:30AM, there was a fire incident at Stonhard, Inc. located at 1000 E. Park Avenue.  The Maple Shade Fire Department and County Hazmat report the fire was a result of a resin located within a container.  Initially and out of an abundance of caution, evacuations were ordered of the residents and businesses with a 1 to 2 block area of the fire.

Evacuations were lifted a short time later when it was learned the resin was not toxic in nature.  It is recommened that residents keep their doors and windows closed because the burning resin does have an unpleasant odor to it.

At no time was the safety of our residents compromised as our first responders investigated this matter.  Updates will follow as relevant and appropriate.
