This morning, at approximately 9am, Deputies with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office, Officers with the Old Fort Police Department, NC State Highway Patrol, McDowell County EMS and first responders responded to an incident in Old Fort, NC where a small child was struck by a vehicle.  The child was transported by EMS to Mission Hospital.  Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office along with the NC State Highway Patrol are currently on scene conducting an investigation.  No other details are available at this time.
