Rohnert Park Chief Awards Employees for Exemplary Service!

On April 4, 2022, Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Chief Tim Mattos had the honor in awarding 11 employees for their exemplary service to the Rohnert Park Community in 2021.  These awards come from feedback from the community as well as internal employee nominations.  The award categories and explanations are as follows:

Award of Valor: Awarded to a member who distinguishes themselves conspicuously by heroic action. The act must be of such extraordinary nature that the employee exposes themselves to peril above and beyond the call of duty.

Distinguished Service Award: Awarded to a member who has served in an outstanding, substantive manner, and who has consistently performed their job in a highly professional manner. Some areas for consideration include continued self-improvement and/or consistent outstanding performance.

Impact: Awarded to a member whose efforts contributed significantly to the Department mission. If the actions of an employee have a positive impact on the Department and are above the normal expectations of an employee, but they do not meet the requirement of the other awards, the Impact Award may be warranted.

Officer/Professional Staff of the Year: This award is nominated and voted on by peers of the agency. It is not necessarily specific to rank or division; however, a peer group selection to the persons totality of service. One award will be given to a sworn staff member and one award will be given to a professional staff member.
