April 9: Annual Easter Egg Hunt
On Saturday, April 9, 2022, the Knowlton Recreation Department will host the Annual Easter Egg Hunt for children at Tunnel Field on Route 94.
The event begins promptly at 11:00 a.m. with free hot dogs, donuts, and refreshments provided by the Lions Club to follow the hunt. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance on a fire truck, and there will be gifts and prizes for children. In the event of rain, the Easter Egg Hunt will be rescheduled for the following day at the same time.
April 24: Hazardous Waste Cleanup
On Sunday, April 24, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Pollution Control Financing Authority of Warren County will host a hazardous waste cleanup. Location: the Warren County District Landfill at 500 Mount Pisgah Avenue, Oxford, NJ.
The event is for Warren County residents only and there is no cost. No schools or small businesses are accepted. Accepted waste includes antifreeze, cleaners, fluorescent tubes, mercury, solvents, pesticides, fire extinguishers, transmission fluid, driveway sealer, propane tanks and oil paints. No electronics will be accepted. See the attached flyer for more details.
Beginning April 25, Voucher for Spring Cleanup
Beginning April 25, Knowlton residents may come to the Municipal Building (located at 628 Route 94) to pick up their voucher for the spring cleanup. The weeklong spring cleanup, during which every Knowlton household receives a voucher to dispose of one vehicle-load of unwanted items at the Warren County Landfill for free, has been set for May 9 through 14. Items accepted by the county dump include: furniture, scrap metal, wood, lawn mowers, non-freon containing appliances and more. Residents must bring a voucher with them to the landfill or they will be charged. For more information, visit:
