* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for portions of... Beaufort County in southeastern South Carolina... Colleton County in southeastern South Carolina...

* Until 1130 PM EDT.

* At 1040 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Burton, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and powerlines.

* Locations impacted include: Beaufort, Port Royal, Clarendon, Bennetts Point, Fripp Island, Gardens Corner, Lemon Island, Shell Point, Burton, Laurel Bay, Dale, Ladys Island, Beaufort Marine Corps Air Station and Parris Island.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BEAUFORT, SC ... COLLETON, SC

Instructions:

A tornado watch remains in effect for the warned area. Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Although a tornado is not immediately likely, if one is spotted, act quickly and move to a place of safety inside a sturdy structure such as a basement or small interior room.
