The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Fire Weather Watch, which is in effect from 10 AM CDT this morning through this afternoon.
* AFFECTED AREA...Along and south of Interstate 20 in East and Deep East Texas.
* WIND...Northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts between 30 and 40 mph.
* HUMIDITY...Falling to near or below 20 percent today.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
* AFFECTED AREAS: SMITH ... GREGG ... HARRISON ... CHEROKEE ... RUSK ... PANOLA ... NACOGDOCHES ... SHELBY ... ANGELINA ... SAN AUGUSTINE ... SABINE
