Jacket and Ski Mask Draw Attention to Felon Concealing a Loaded Firearm

INCIDENT: Penal Code 29800(a)(1)-Felon in Possession of a Firearm
LOCATION: Lynwood Drive and Loma Avenue, San Bernardino, CA
SUSPECT(S): Jerell Allen, 19-year-old resident of San Bernardino, CA
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, April 7, 2022, at approximately 12:11 p.m., Highland Police Station Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) deputies were traveling through the area of Lynwood Drive and Loma Avenue. MET deputies observed a male subject, who was later identified as Jerell Allen, walking on the sidewalk. Allen was wearing a heavy jacket and full ski mask in the near 100° temperature. The area is a high crime area which is known for violent crime and narcotic activity.
Deputies contacted Allen and discovered he was concealing an unregistered and unserialized homemade style firearm. The firearm was loaded with a high capacity magazine which contained 29 rounds of ammunition. Allen also had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. Allen was arrested for his violation(s) and was booked into Sheriff's custody.
