The Cayuga Heights Police Department would like to advise residents of a recent phone scam being reported.  The calls are being made by individuals posing as service provider representatives offering to upgrade your current plan.  Do not offer any personal information or send any money. Follow up with your service provider to inform them of the incident and to take precautions to secure your account. Most companies will not call you to solicit lowering your bill.

CHPD reminds residents that the potential threat of Fraud/Identity Theft is present in all different areas; email, posted mail, social media, phone calls and more. Secure your accounts by resetting passwords frequently and notify your bank of any suspicious activity.
